Photographing 300 + bottles in 6 hours

One of my favorite photography projects this year was photographing for the American Craft Spirits Association. We did a full day product photo shoot for their annual craft spirits competition. My job was to photograph over 300 liquor bottles in 6 hours. It was not an easy photo shoot, but thankfully I had a team to stay organized.

I set up my lights and a small backdrop on a table. The photo shoot took place in a distillery in Denver because that is where all of the liquor bottles were. The lighting was challenging at times, with the sunlight coming through the large garage windows of the distillery. I had to move my set up half way through the photo shoot. I used two lights with soft boxes on them and a white foam backdrop.

Overall, I am really proud of how the photos came out. I had consistent lighting and coloring on all of the bottles. Some bottles are more challenging to photograph than others, due to the reflections on the glass. I had to edit some of the reflections out in post-production. Here are some examples of the photos that were captured. They were used during the annual craft spirits competition to highlight the winners.
